OPERATION
The torque is transmitted through flexible coupling blocks. When loaded, the flexible blocks are mainly subjected to compression as the torque increases. The angle of twist initially grows rapidly and then levels off. This non-linear spring characteristic of the E couplings and the favourable damping properties effectively counteract any dangerous increase the working life of the coupling flexibles.
E couplings will compensate to a certain extent for parallel offset misalignment, angular misalignment and axial movement of the shafts, but it should be noted that accurate alignment will increase the working life of the coupling flexibles.
The flexible blocks (Mix-IRG NS80B) can be used at ambient temperatures from -30° C to +85° C.
